General Purpose
Experienced team member of the business applications group, focusing on supporting the development, maintenance, and support activities in keeping systems stable and functional in addition to increasing functionality for the user community.
 
Essential Functions
• This positions primary responsibility will be as our SharePoint (MOSS 2007) Technical Development and Administration accountable for coordinating overall design, development and maintenance/administration of multiple sites.
• Supports business applications through resolving trouble with applications, facilitating changes to applications through migrations, and supports other IT organizations in providing support to the business community.
• Serves as a contributor and member to project teams in the applications area.
• Completes administration tasks, such as status reporting and documentation.
• Research’s problems to determine the cause of problems or define problems with assistance.
• Recognizes problems as they are/or about to occur and address.
• Collaboration with internal customers.
 
Job Qualifications/Minimum Requirements
 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Incumbent must possess excellent interpersonal and analysis skills. Must be able to work independently as well as on teams. Must be self motivated; people oriented, and demonstrate good oral and written communications skills. Incumbent must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize/reprioritize workloads. Incumbent must be able to work with other IT co-workers and/or end users without supervision. Working knowledge of systems development methodologies as well as provide Tier 2/3 support.
 
Education or Formal Training
Incumbent will have a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, OR equivalent experience and training. Incumbent must have advanced experience and training in both programming and database programming techniques.
 
Experience
Incumbent will have 5-8 year’s related experience as a degreed professional OR, equivalent experience and training. Incumbent should have advanced (requiring limited assistance) skills in programming and database programming.
Incumbent will need to have experience in a majority of the following technologies:
 
• MOSS 2007
• SharePoint Designer 2007
• Net 2.0
• C#
• HTML
 
Additionally, experience in the following technologies would be preferred
• Web services
• InfoPath 2007
• XML/XSLT
• Windows 2003 IIS Admin
• Java Script

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: 

The Application Developer is a team contributor providing specialized technical business knowledge to multiple projects utilizing Internet computing architectures.  They are principle responsibility for programming, developing, and maintaining ProLogis’ internal and external Web site components. 

 

They will collaborate with other team members to define customer requirements, system interfaces, assess available technologies, and develop and present solutions.  They must be able to communicate and work effectively within a technical or business area, and take on management responsibility for subprojects and have solid project management techniques.

 

The must be able to assess projects and recommend strategies to achieve business needs, identify business problems and implement solutions, and can assess and communicate technology issues and their impact on the business, then apply technical knowledge to accurately anticipate organizational impacts. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Assume primary responsibilities for application development and ongoing technical support of ProLogis Internet, Intranet, Extranet site and other customer applications.

• Provide technical consultation in new systems development, new package evaluations, and enhancement of existing systems; participate in structured walkthroughs and technical reviews

• Work with internal IT teams to prepare functional specifications from which programs will be written, and other integration activities to ensure successful implementation and support of projects

• Participate in technical design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of web site and application enhancements

• Plan, schedule and conduct system tests

• Train content owners to use web content tools

• Update content and functionality of company’s web site

• Keep up to date on Internet technologies

• Document applications and write technical user guides

 

COMPUTER SKLLS: 

• 8+ years of development experience on Microsoft platform (e.g. ASP.NET 2.0/3.0, C#, XML, IIS, SQL Server, etc)

• 2+ years experience with SharePoint development, configuration and implementation

• Substantial understanding of business workflows and the capabilities of MOSS 2007, WSS 3.0 and SharePoint Designer 2007

• Knowledge in one or more areas (e.g. Collaboration, Portals, Enterprise Search, Enterprise Content Management, Business Process and Forms, and/or Business Intelligence).  Experience with SharePoint Templates (Application Templates, Master Pages, Role-Based Templates, and the Community Kit for SharePoint)

• SharePoint knowledge should include and understanding of architectural design, hands on Web deploying and supporting enterprise SharePoint implementations

• Expert in object-oriented analysis, design, and design patterns

• Ability to work in groups

• Familiarity with SQL Server, SOA and Web Services, and TFS and VSTS

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Information Systems Experience; and related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 

Microsoft Certified Solution Developer or Microsoft Certified Application Developer certificates a plus.
